Sofia Drossos, Economist, Point72
Sophia Drossos is an Economist and Strategist for Point72 based in New York, focusing on U.S. and global policy developments. As part of her role, Sophia provides insights regarding the financial market implications of macroeconomic and fiscal policies in developed and emerging market economies.
Prior to joining Point72 in 2022, Sophia served as Head of Research at Light Sky Macro and held similar positions at Thiel Macro and Element Capital Management. Previously, she was Co-Head of Currency Research at Morgan Stanley as well as a Senior Investor in the bank’s Global Macro and Asset Allocation division. Earlier in her career, Sophia was the Chief Dealer at the New York Fed, where she oversaw and planned open market operations and provided financial market analysis for FOMC and U.S. Treasury officials.
Sophia earned a master’s in public policy and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from the University of Michigan–Ann Arbor. She is also a CFA charterholder.
