Rebecca McCaughrin is the Director of Cross-Market Monitoring and Analysis in the Markets Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she oversees a group responsible for monitoring and analyzing developments across global financial markets, assessing the evolution in policy expectations, and conducting quantitative analysis to support the business. Previously, Rebecca was an analyst on the domestic capital markets staff, covering mortgage and interest rate swap markets. Before coming to the Fed, she was a senior economist at the International Monetary Fund in the Monetary and Capital Markets Department, and served as co-author of the bi-annual Global Financial Stability Report and provided technical assistance to various central banks. She was also seconded for a 2-year term by the Office of Financial Research at the U.S. Treasury Department to set up a framework for assessing risks to financial stability and oversee financial market analysis in the research group. Prior to that, she was an economist with Morgan Stanley’s global economics team in London and New York and started her career in a strategy management consulting firm. She received both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Harvard University.
