Chris Gootkind is the director of credit research and a credit strategist at Loomis, Sayles & Company. Chris has 40 years of fixed income investment experience and joined Loomis Sayles in 2010. Previously, he was a vice president and fixed income portfolio manager at Wellington Management, where he initially joined as director of credit research in 2000. Prior to Wellington, Chris held various investment roles at Scudder Kemper Investments, including head of credit research and portfolio manager. Chris is a past president and board member of CFA Society Boston. He is a founding member and the former chair of the Credit Roundtable, a group of institutional fixed income managers whose mission is to improve the investment grade corporate bond market, including strengthening bondholder covenant protections. He also authored the current reading on Fundamentals of Credit Analysis for the Chartered Financial Analysts (CFA) exam curriculum. Chris earned a BA from Williams College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
