Ms. Clay is the Managing Director of Research for the High Yield and Leveraged Finance asset classes, Fidelity Investments
Janet Clay is a managing director of research in the High Income and Alternatives division at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals.
In this role, Ms. Clay is responsible for the oversight of the high-yield analyst’s research team.
Prior to joining Fidelity in 2021, Ms. Clay worked as a managing director at Liberty Mutual Investments, heading up global investment credit research. She also served as a manager of direct lending partnerships and was a leveraged finance analyst (bonds, loans). Previously, she was a senior vice president and a high-yield bond analyst at State Street Research & Management, an assistant portfolio manager and a vice president at John Hancock Funds, a derivatives strategist at Putnam Investments, and a junior analyst at Colonial Management & Associates, focusing on municipal fixed income. She has been in the financial industry since 1989.
Ms. Clay earned her bachelor of arts degree in computer science from Dartmouth College and her master’s in science degree in finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management. She is also a CFA charterholder.
