Edward J. Pinto is an American Enterprise Institute (AEI) senior fellow and director of AEIs Housing Center. The Center monitors the US markets and evaluates policy issues using a unique set of Housing Market Indicators. He is currently researching policies to increase the supply of market rate housing through the adoption of light touch density and a focus on walkable oriented development. Active in housing finance for over 40 years, he was an executive vice president and chief credit officer for Fannie Mae until the late 1980s.
